Tea Garden

The Tea Garden is currently closed while the menu and staff are being refreshed! Apologies for any inconvenience.

Our beautiful Tea Garden has been open since the summer of 2007. Seated outdoors on custom made wooden furniture, amongst the fynbos flora and fauna and lulled by the trickle of the stream and the birdsong, it sets a very restful and rustic scene.

Our beverages include an array of teas - including fynbos tea - delicious coffee and homemade iced tea. There are daily wheat-free home baked specials, a fresh variety every day, favorites including rose cupcakes, double chocolate cake and rooibos cake. We also offer savories for those without such a sweet tooth.

There is a secure playground and a delightful succulent garden, making it a perfect venue for children’s parties, and is also available for tea parties, garden clubs and other functions.

Our children’s parties are fully catered for and puppet shows and activities can be arranged. Pre-booked fynbos platters are also available

Opening hours are:

Mondays to Thursdays: 9am – 5pm
Fridays: 9am – 4pm holidays
Weekends and public holidays: 10am – 4pm

Gardening Tip of the Month

We are preparing for a very dry summer as this winters rainfall has been low- so plan your garden accordingly i.e. avoid using high maintenance, water loving plants. If you have a relatively established garden, look at what has done well and repeat. If you are starting a new garden, look at using water-wise species, preferably local and endemic and use a lot of mulch (Heavier mulches are better as they don't rot or blow away as quickly).

Gnidia pinifolia

This hairless shrublet is a very tough fynbos grower. It prefers sandy slopes as opposed to low lying coastal areas. Likes our winter rainfall yet can deal with summer drought. Flowers in delicate cayxl, tubular clusters ranging from white to pink. If standing solitary, it can grow up to half a metre - A round, fairly compact bush. If surrounded by other plants, it can grow bigger.
